Why this page exists

The Information Regulator’s PAIA guidance describes a manual for private bodies and explains that the manual should be made available, including through the body’s website and principal place of business. GoldGuard must confirm the applicable requirements and publish the approved document or manual here.

Manual fields to complete

Approved legal entity name, registration details and principal place of business.
Information officer and deputy information officer details, where applicable.
The structure and functions of the business.
Records held by the business and the subjects/categories those records concern.
Records automatically available and the process for requesting other records.
Applicable request forms, fees, time limits, remedies and contact routes.
Interaction with the approved privacy notice and POPIA data-subject process.
Manual version, effective date, responsible contact and change history.

Current implementation state

The final PAIA manual still needs the business details listed above. The site will not invent an information officer, fee schedule, records catalogue or legal entity detail.
