The gold Krugerrand collection
Gold Krugerrands are available in four sizes. Each standard coin uses the same 22-carat gold-and-copper alloy. What changes is the quantity of fine gold inside the coin and the cost of buying it.

A South African original
A one-ounce gold Krugerrand contains one full troy ounce of fine gold. Its familiar reddish-gold tone comes from a 22-carat alloy made with copper, which contributes to the coin’s durability.
The size describes its fine gold content, rather than the weight of the complete coin. A 1 oz Krugerrand contains approximately 31.1035 grams of fine gold and weighs approximately 33.93 grams in total. Smaller denominations contain the corresponding fraction of fine gold.
Choosing your coins
A smaller coin gives you a lower entry price because it contains less gold. Compare the price of the sizes you are considering; the price of a half-ounce coin is not necessarily half the price of a full ounce.
Several smaller coins let you sell individual pieces later. A single 1 oz coin holds more gold in one piece. Choose the combination that suits the amount you want to buy and how you may use it.

Tell us which size and quantity you’re interested in, and where you’re based. We’ll confirm availability and discuss collection or other arrangements.
We’ll explain which identification and other documents you need, agree your appointment and confirm the final rand amount with you.
Payment is by immediate EFT. Once the details are agreed, collect at our Pretoria office or use another arrangement we have specifically confirmed with you.

Have a valid South African ID or applicable passport ready. We’ll confirm whether proof of address or other documents are needed. Tell us if you’re buying for a company, trust or someone else so we can explain what to bring.
